While growing up Aaron Hunter had the opportunity to live on a large parcel of land in Southeast Missouri that had both wooded areas and several large bodies of water. This time in his life created his interest in the outdoors. Aaron says he can’t ever remember a time when fishing wasn’t a major part of his life.
While a young man Aaron says his father Alton was his most frequent and favorite fishing partner. The spent many hours together on the water and Aaron says he learned a lot about fishing from his father. Aaron went of to college at Southeast Missouri State University on a basketball scholarship and later attended the University of Missouri at Columbia to major in Parks and Recreation. He later earned a MBA from Fontbonne University. During the time Aaron was attending these different schools he and his father, Alton Hunter, had less time to fish together.
However, after finishing the education goals Aaron again chose his father as his most frequent and favorite fishing partner. They began fishing local club tournaments together as well as some open buddy tournaments on the waters of Missouri. This was another start to something that will last a lifetime for them both.
As of late they are again teamed up as partners on several regional tournament circuits including the Joe Bass Team Trail. During the season of 2007 they competed in the Anglers in Action circuit together in the Pomme De Terre division. They finished second in points and most weight in this division. From here they competed in the Anglers in Action Classic and finished in the top 30.
Both Aaron and Alton represent Midwest Fishing Tackle with pride while we are thankful to have them both on our Pro Staff. This father and son team is one of the finest in amateur fishing in the Ozark region. Aaron also represents All Terrain Tackle while competing in the events and Midwest Fishing Tackle carries a full line of All Terrain Tackle products.
